"WDC" is an automatic backup pin that prevents deformation from loads applied from above. The pin softly touches the workpiece and stops and holds in place. The weight of the workpiece pushes the pin down, lowering it to the height of the reference surface. As the pin descends in accordance with the workpiece, it absorbs height variations caused by inconsistencies in the workpiece, completing the adjustment the moment the workpiece is set.
